My Homeaglow Review: My Experience Booking a 6-Hour Home Cleaning

The Real Life Cleaning Challenges of Busy Moms

As a mom to two young kids, keeping our house truly clean can feel like a never-ending job. There are always toys scattered around, kids running from room to room, and the general commotion that comes with everyday family life.

I also work full time from home, which means my work life and home life constantly overlap, and there never seems to be a clear moment when one ends and the other begins.

Most of the time, I can keep up with the everyday chores like dishes, laundry, and basic tidying, but it’s the bigger cleaning projects that always seem to escape me.

Over time, I start noticing grime building up in the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, and all those little corners that don’t make it onto my daily to-do list. I know they need attention, but finding the time and energy to actually tackle a deep clean is another story entirely.

I have finally come to the conclusion that outsourcing this area of my life to a dedicated cleaning professional is the best way to get it done. And done well!

My First-Hand Cleaning Experience with Homeaglow

There is regular house cleaning, and then there is the kind of cleaning that makes you walk around your house afterward wondering how everything suddenly looks so new again. That was my experience after booking a six-hour cleaning through Homeaglow.

I booked a top-rated local cleaner named Jamie for a six-hour cleaning session, with the biggest priorities being our kitchen, two bathrooms, and the floors throughout the house. I wanted more than a quick wipe-down and vacuum. My goal was to give some of the hardest-working areas of our home a thorough deep clean and tackle the little details that are easy to overlook during everyday cleaning.

Jamie absolutely delivered. After six hours of detailed cleaning, our house had that fresh, sparkling feeling I remember from when we first moved in.

If you're researching Homeaglow reviews because you're wondering how the booking process works, what a Homeaglow cleaner actually does, and how much Homeaglow costs, I'm sharing my experience below.

What Is Homeaglow?

Homeaglow is an online marketplace that helps you find and book independent house cleaners in your area. Rather than calling different local cleaning companies and asking for quotes, you can browse available cleaning professionals online and choose a cleaner based on factors such as their profile, availability, rates, and customer reviews.

Homeaglow has cleaners on its platform go through a certification process and background check. Applicants must pass a criminal background check or consumer report before working through the platform.

That was an important feature for me. Inviting someone into your home is personal, especially when they are going to be there for several hours. Knowing that Homeaglow has a screening process in place gave me additional peace of mind when booking.

The basic process is straightforward. You choose when you'd like your house cleaned, browse cleaners available in your area, select the professional you want, and schedule your appointment online. Homeaglow recommends different cleaning durations based on the size of the home and areas you want cleaned. The website suggests six hours for larger homes and specifically lists a kitchen, two or more bathrooms, and two or more bedrooms as an example of what could fit into a six-hour appointment.

Booking a Top-Rated Cleaner Through Homeaglow

One of my favorite things about using Homeaglow was being able to see information about cleaners before booking.

I didn't feel like I was simply submitting my address and waiting to see who showed up. Being able to look through profiles and reviews helped me feel much more comfortable choosing someone to come into my home.

I ended up booking Jamie, a highly rated female cleaner, for six hours.

I also liked having the ability to read feedback from previous clients. Reviews can be particularly helpful with house cleaning because everyone's priorities are a little different. Some people may care most about speed, while others want someone who pays close attention to details.

I'm definitely in the second group.

I'd rather have someone thoroughly clean the most important areas than rush through the entire house just so every room technically gets touched.

That turned out to be one of the reasons Jamie was such a great fit for our home.

My Six-Hour Homeaglow Cleaning

For my appointment, I had three main priorities:

  1. Deep cleaning the kitchen

  2. Deep cleaning our two bathrooms

  3. Cleaning the floors throughout the house

From there, Jamie worked from top to bottom in each space, even behind the toilet, in the corners, and less visible areas. I really appreciated this approach because it felt like an actual deep cleaning rather than simply tidying visible surfaces.

Jamie spent the entire six-hour appointment working through our home, and the results were immediately noticeable.

She Came Fully Prepared With Her Own Cleaning Supplies

Another thing that impressed me was how prepared Jamie was when she arrived.

She brought her own steam cleaning machine, Dyson vacuum, and the cleaning products and supplies she needed for the job.

I didn't have to spend the morning gathering bottles of cleaner, finding attachments for our vacuum, or wondering whether I had the right products available.

Homeaglow's website lists cleaning supplies, including a vacuum, among the things included with standard cleaning. Of course, individual cleaners may have their own preferred equipment and products, so your experience may vary depending on the cleaner you select.

In Jamie's case, she arrived ready to work.

I was particularly happy to see the steamer because it gave the cleaning an extra deep-clean feel. There are certain areas where steam cleaning can make such a noticeable difference, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms.

The Kitchen Deep Clean

Our kitchen was one of my biggest priorities.

Like most family kitchens, ours gets used constantly. Even when I'm regularly wiping counters, sweeping floors, and keeping up with dishes, there are always those areas where grime gradually accumulates.

A professional deep cleaning is different because someone is specifically spending time looking for those details. Jamie was incredibly thorough.

Instead of focusing only on making the obvious surfaces look clean, she worked through the kitchen from top to bottom. Our stovetop was especially in need of some TLC, where grease and food particles had really built up from daily cooking. When she finished, the entire room felt refreshed.

This was one of those situations where I didn't realize just how much the kitchen needed a professional deep clean until I saw it afterward. Everything simply felt brighter and cleaner.

Homeaglow's standard cleaning information lists tasks such as dishes, microwave cleaning, appliance exteriors, dusting, vacuuming, and general cleaning. The company also lists certain tasks, including cleaning inside refrigerators, ovens, cabinets, interior windows, and walls, as premium or add-on services.

If one of those tasks is particularly important to you, I recommend checking what's included before your appointment and communicating your priorities with your cleaner.

Deep Cleaning Two Bathrooms

Bathrooms were the other major priority for our six-hour cleaning.

Bathrooms are probably one of my least favorite areas of the house to deep clean because there are so many different surfaces packed into a relatively small space.

You have mirrors, sinks, counters, faucets, toilets, showers, bathtub, floors, and countless little corners that need attention.

Jamie thoroughly cleaned both of our bathrooms, and again, the attention to detail stood out. Our glass shower doors had significant soap scum and hard water buildup, which she steamed away and left sparking!

The bathrooms didn't just look tidied up. They felt properly cleaned.

Homeaglow's standard service description includes cleaning toilets, sinks, showers, mirrors, and bathroom surfaces. Having a full six-hour appointment also meant there was enough time to really focus on these rooms instead of trying to squeeze everything into a short visit.

Cleaning All the Floors in the House

The final big priority was our floors.

Floors are one of those household chores where it can feel like you're constantly cleaning them, especially in a busy home. Dust, crumbs, dirt, and everyday life accumulate quickly, especially if you have small children like I do.

Jamie used her Dyson vacuum and cleaning equipment to work through the floors throughout the house. Followed by a steam cleaning of all the hardwood floors in the house.

Having all the floors cleaned at the end also brought the whole deep cleaning together. Once the kitchen and bathrooms were sparkling and the floors were freshly cleaned, the entire house felt different.

It reminded me of that feeling when you first move into a home and everything feels fresh and untouched. That was probably the biggest compliment I could give the experience. Our home felt almost brand new again after the major remodel.

Jamie Was Extremely Thorough

The biggest standout from my Homeaglow experience was the quality of Jamie's work. She was incredibly thorough and detail-oriented.

Six hours is a long cleaning appointment, and she used that time well. I never got the impression that she was rushing through rooms just to move on to the next task.

Instead, she focused on doing the job properly. That's exactly what I wanted from a deep cleaning. Her communication was also friendly and pleasant, which made having someone working in our home for several hours feel comfortable.

I would absolutely recommend Jamie based on my experience.

How Much Does Homeaglow Cost?

This is probably one of the biggest questions people have when researching Homeaglow, and pricing deserves some explanation because there are promotional rates, membership rates, standard rates, and potential additional fees.

Prices can also vary based on your location and the cleaner you choose, so I strongly recommend looking at the actual estimated total displayed when you book rather than assuming everyone will pay the same amount.

Homeaglow is currently offering a ForeverClean membership offer that includes a free three-hour introductory cleaning for new clients. The company's main website currently states that the membership costs $19 for the first month and then $59 per month afterward. Homeaglow membership cleaning rates average around $25 per hour and are roughly 60% lower than standard rates.

The promotional offer comes with an important condition that prospective customers should understand. Homeaglow describes ForeverClean as a six-month membership. Although the company says you can cancel online at any time, its current terms state that canceling during the first six paid months results in the introductory cleaning being charged at full price.

Homeaglow also says exact cleaning prices depend on your location and the cleaner you select. *Note: Processing fees can apply, and premium cleaners may have an additional Premium Cleaning Fee.

Can You Tip Your Homeaglow Cleaner?

Yes.

After your cleaning, you have the option to leave your cleaner a tip. With Homeaglow, cleaners receive 100% of gratuities left through the platform.

I like having the tipping option built into the process because you can decide afterward based on your experience.

When someone spends six hours working hard to make your home feel beautiful again, having an easy way to recognize excellent work is a nice feature.

Leaving a Review After Your Cleaning

You can also leave feedback about your cleaner after the appointment. This is particularly useful because reviews are part of what helps other customers decide which cleaner they want to book. Homeaglow customers have up to 30 days following their appointment to review their cleaner. I appreciate this system because the cleaner you choose can have a huge impact on your overall Homeaglow experience.

Homeaglow provides the platform, booking system, screening process, and payment infrastructure, but ultimately there is a real person coming into your house and doing the cleaning. Reading recent reviews can help you find someone whose cleaning style matches what you're looking for.

What I Liked Most About Homeaglow

For me, one of the biggest benefits was convenience. I could find a local cleaner, read reviews, select someone highly rated, schedule the cleaning, and manage the experience through the platform.

I also appreciated the background-check requirement. Homeaglow’s cleaners undergo background screening, which adds an important layer of reassurance when you're hiring someone to work inside your home.

Being able to leave a review and tip afterward makes the process feel complete. But ultimately, the biggest reason my experience was so positive was Jamie.

A booking platform can make finding a cleaner easier, but the quality of the actual cleaning is what matters when six hours are over and you're standing in your kitchen looking around.

In my case, I was genuinely impressed.

Is Six Hours of House Cleaning Worth It?

For a true deep cleaning, I think booking a longer appointment can make a big difference.

If you only need someone to vacuum, wipe down the kitchen, and clean a bathroom, you probably don't need six hours. Our goals were much bigger, and it’s more of a once every 3 months type of clean.

I specifically wanted the kitchen and two bathrooms deep cleaned, plus the floors throughout our home. I also wanted Jamie to have enough time to be detailed rather than racing against the clock.

For our cleaning priorities, six hours was simply needed.

Tips for Booking Your First Homeaglow Cleaning

Consider the points below before you book your first-time cleaning experience:

Read the Cleaner Reviews

Based on my experience, I'd recommend reading cleaner reviews carefully and thinking about your biggest priorities before the appointment.

Book Enough Time

Be realistic about how much you want your cleaner to accomplish and book enough hours for your priorities. If you want a true deep clean rather than a quick surface cleaning, a longer appointment gives your cleaner time to be thorough and focus on the details.

Select Your Top Priority Areas to Be Cleaned

Don't assume that six hours means every inch of a large house will receive an intensive deep cleaning. Decide what matters most. For us, that was the kitchen, bathrooms, and floors. I'd rather have those spaces cleaned exceptionally well than ask a cleaner to rush through a long list of lower-priority tasks.

Declutter and Tidy Up Before the Cleaner Arrives

Before your cleaner arrives, spend a few minutes decluttering and putting away everyday items like toys, clothes, dishes, and paperwork. Clearing counters, floors, and other surfaces allows your cleaner to spend more of the appointment actually deep cleaning instead of organizing your belongings. A little prep beforehand can help you get the most value out of your cleaning time, especially when you're paying by the hour.

Would I Recommend Homeaglow?

Based on my cleaning experience, definitely yes!

The platform made it easy to connect with a local cleaner, and I liked being able to look at ratings and reviews before deciding who I wanted to book. I also appreciate that Homeaglow requires background checks for cleaners using the platform.

Most importantly, I was extremely happy with the cleaner I selected.

Jamie was friendly, professional, prepared, thorough, and incredibly detail-oriented. She arrived with her own steamer, Dyson vacuum, and cleaning supplies and spent six hours giving our home the kind of deep cleaning I simply don't have time to do regularly.

The kitchen looked refreshed. Both bathrooms received a thorough cleaning. The floors throughout the house were clean. Everything felt noticeably fresher.

By the time she finished, our house had that almost-new feeling I remember from when we first moved in. For me, that's about as successful as a deep cleaning can get.

If you're considering Homeaglow, my biggest advice is to spend some time reading cleaner profiles and reviews, choose someone whose experience fits your priorities, and be clear about which areas of your home matter most to you.
