Madewell is my favorite go-to store when I'm looking for something cute, understated and trendy. I would classify it more as California style with small touches of boho inspired details and embellishments. My closet is filled with Madewell clothes but I will still willingly but more! I love how their denim fits and I’ve got summer dresses I wear year after year.
Everlane's fashion products are minimally designed essentials that are super high quality and meant to last forever. Their timeless aesthetic never goes out of style or feels dated. Let’s be real, Free People clothing doesn’t come cheap. You can easily spend over $100 on a single dress, in some cases you’re looking at over $300 for dresses with special features like sequins and embroidery.
But the good news is that with a little shopping experience and research, I found some very comparable online fashion brands that you will love just as much. These options are much more affordable, in many cases you’re looking at spending less than $30 on a boho chic dress. ASOS is a popular British fashion brand that always has the most updated and trendy styles. The price ranges you can find on their website vary greatly. While it’s easy to spend over $150 on a dress at ASOS, you can just as easily find similar boho chic styles for less than $50. The key is to use their website’s filters for price and style of dress. I found the dress pictures on the left on sale for $25!
American Eagle began with the all-American prep style in 1977, but in recent years they have evolved to incorporate more boho-like fashions. Their collections can be a bit more conservative than other brands in this list. Nevertheless, they always have standout pieces that fulfill any fashionable person's inner bohemian goddess.
Old Navy has a reputation for carrying outdated and drab styles. But if you haven’t recently taken a look at the Old Navy online dress shop, you may be surprised at the boho styles of maxi and midi dresses the have in stock. I have several Old Navy dresses in my closet that can easily pass for Free People to curious onlookers.

They have modern cuts and boho inspired mix and match pieces. Most of the price points are lower than what you would expect to pay at Free People (but not always).
