When you're looking to book your next spa retreat in Sacramento, consider making reservations at the prestigious Arden Hills Club & Spa. My husband booked me a massage and spa day here for a Mother’s Day gift and it was wonderful. This spa has been awarded Best Day Spa in Sacramento for eleven consecutive years, so you know there’s pros at providing excellent services.

If you’re an event or wedding planner, the below tips will really help you provide the best experience for your client. For the gals and guys planning their own spa retreat, you’ll be very prepared when you check-in for your day. If you’re a guest at The Villa at Arden Hills, the below guide will help you not only with the spa planning but also making the most of all the amenities during your stay.

Everything You Need to Know Before Your Spa Day at the Arden Hills Spa

List of Spa Services - You can choose a combination of massage, manicure and pedicure, facial, body scrubs, hair styling and waxing. There is also wonderful spa music and little added extras designed to help you relax.

There are several packages you can book which bundle services and provide a slight discount. For larger groups they offer special packages as well. When you visit the spa page on the website you can download the menu which lists all the services along with prices.

Spa Loungewear - During your check-in, you'll be provided a robe and slippers for lounging. The front desk receptionist will walk you over to available lockers. The locker rooms are very large and maze-like so be sure to take note of where you’re going to easily find your locker again.

Lockers - You will be able to lock-up all your belongings while enjoying exploring the grounds. The lockers have customizable 4-digit codes, no need to bring your own lock.

Hydrothermal Whirlpool - Inside the locker rooms there’s a hot tub with massing jets. Use of the hot tub comes along with your spa services. Be sure to bring swimsuit, it’s not a nude-friendly tub.

Steam Room - When you’re planning your itinerary, leave time for a relaxing steam room session. The moist heat is known to help with open up your pores and remove impurities. The ideal amount of time to spend in a steam room is approximately 15 minutes.

Timing is Everything - Plan on either arriving early or hanging out afterwards to enjoy the amenities. You can arrive early and hang in the serenity room and sip hot tea, relax in the steam room and/or enjoy the hydrothermal whirlpool.

Pool and Cabana - The Arden Hills Club & Spa have extensive grounds with multiple pools, golfing, gym and tennis courts. The pool area has some fancy cabanas, perfect for spending quality time with your crew if you’re planning a girls bachelorette or bridal party. Extra fees will apply beyond the standard spa services cost, although the extended use of the grounds is included in a booking of over a party of 6 people or more.

Fresh Nibbles - In the serenity room you'll find complimentary fresh fruit, tea, water and light snacks. If you’re feeling extra hungry, there’s both a restaurant and light cafeteria bar with heartier food options for purchase.

Massage Details - My massage was booked with therapist Ronisha and she was excellent, it was a phenomenal quality massage. I suffer from chronic migraines and I asked her to concentrate on my neck and shoulders because tension tends to build up in those areas. She tailored my massage to my needs and the amount of pressure was exactly what I asked for.

Massage Options and Add-Ons - My Swedish massage included a hot steam towel and weighted heating pad (not sure the official name but that’s what it felt like). The massage menu includes deep tissue, prenatal, hot stone, reflexology, Swedish massage and couples massage. You can also add aromatherapy with essential oils and bio freeze to your massage for an extra fee.

Prenatal Massage - When I was pregnant, I had a hard time finding a spa that offered quality prenatal massage. The Arden Hills Spa not only offers prenatal, but you can also select from either 50 minutes or 80 minutes. In order to book a prenatal massage, almost all spas will require that the mother-to-be has already finished their first trimester and are already entered their second trimester.
