This Honey Glazed Baked Pears with Gorgonzola and Walnuts recipe is so simple yet so rich and decadent. The best part is its versatility, can be made for all types of holidays, brunches and family gatherings. It requires few ingredients because each one is such high quality and they combine together harmoniously. The gorgonzola cheese is so rich and creamy, it steals the show in this recipe for sure! This dish can served as an appetizer or a light and tangy dessert, either way your guests will be impressed with this luxurious treat.
Ingredients (serves 6)
3 ripe pears. I experimented with Bosc, Bartlett and Red Pears. While they were all delicious, the red was my favorite.
Fresh sprigs of Thyme
Crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Cut pears in half and scoop out seeds.
Step 3: Place pear halves on a baking sheet facing up and drizzle with honey.
Step 4: Garnish with Thyme sprigs on top and place in heated oven. Bake for about 10 minutes or until pears are soft enough to pierce with a fork.
Step 5: Place spoonfuls of Gorgonzola cheese in the hollowed out center of the pears. Add a walnut half and then drizzle with a little more honey. Enjoy!
